Im Vergleich zur herkömmlichen operativen Wurzelrestentfernung, bei der Zahnfleisch zur Seite geschoben sowie wertvoller krestaler Alveolarfortsatz fräsend geschwächt wird, kommen weich- und hartgewebige Schäden durch ApEx-Control kaum noch vor. Schmerz oder Schwellung sind kaum zu befürchten. Die Wundheilung ist stark verkürzt.
