calc-i-oss® ist ein Granulat aus porösem, bioresorbierbarem, phasenreinem β-Tricalciumphosphat (β-TCP) zum Auffüllen von Knochendefekten. calc-i-oss® ist osteokonduktiv und kann über zwei Vorgänge resorbiert werden: physiologisches Lösen in der Körperflüssigkeit und zellulärer Angriff. Durch den Abbau wird Calcium und Phosphat freigesetzt, zwei Hauptbestandteile von Knochen. Die Resorption läuft zeitlich weitgehend parallel mit der Knochenregeneration ab. Abhängig vom Regenerationspotential des Gewebes und der Defektgrösse resorbiert calc-i-oss® vollständig innerhalb von 9 bis 15 Monaten.

calc-i-oss® is a porous, bioresorbable, phase-pure β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) granulate to fill bone defects. calc-i-oss® is osteoconductive and can be resorbed by physiological solution in body fluids and by cellular attack. Calcium and phosphate, which are two main components of bone, are released by the degradation process. Largely, resorption takes place simultaneously with bone regeneration. Depending on the size of the granules and the regeneration potential of the surrounding tissue, calc-i-oss® will be resorbed within 9 to 15 months.
