Hager & Meisinger founds new subsidiary in Italy
The long-established medical technology company Hager & Meisinger GmbH is strengthening its international presence: by founding the subsidiary Meisinger Italy S.r.l., the specialist for dental products is expanding its involvement in the Italian market. The family-owned company, which has been developing innovative solutions for dentistry for over 135 years, is thus continuing its course towards international direct sales.
After more than 100 years on the Italian market, the medical technology company Hager & Meisinger GmbH has now opened its own subsidiary, Meisinger Italy S.r.l..
The company, which was founded in 1888 and specializes in the production and distribution of dental instruments, has developed into a provider with a broad product portfolio. In addition to several implant systems, Hager & Meisinger's range also includes surgical systems and solutions for digital dentistry, which are exported to over 100 countries. The Italian subsidiary will be managed by Francesco Maggioni, who can look back on many years of experience in the Italian dental market.Francesco Lambiase, who is also familiar with the industry, will be responsible for marketing.
Increasing direct sales abroad
The establishment of the Italian branch follows the company's efforts to sell its wide range of products directly abroad.
The growing internationalization of the brand is being consistently pursued by the two managing partners, Dr. Burkard Höchst and Sebastian Voss.A subsidiary was founded in the USA back in 2001.This was followed in 2020 by MEISINGER France and, shortly afterwards, an agency in Asia “We are delighted that we now also have a subsidiary in the Italian market. Our products support our customers in highly complex procedures.
With MEISINGER Italy, we can ensure competent and seamless customer service,” explains Sebastian Voss. “The demands on our instruments have increased continuously,” adds Dr. Burkard Höchst. “As a result, we have come to the realization that the local trade can no longer adequately transport our products that require explanation.”
International training courses and workshops
Hager & Meisinger GmbH organizes training courses and workshops worldwide to ensure that products that require explanation, such as surgical systems, are only used in experienced hands.
The company can thus support users in learning the practical application of certain techniques and practicing the correct use of the appropriate MEISINGER instruments. The company can draw on a global network of renowned experts who pass on their knowledge in the fields of surgery, implantology and digital dentistry to others.

Innovative 3D training teeth: a new dimension in practical learning
Hager & Meisinger wants to give students the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice more effectively with new lifelike 3D practice teeth. The new myteeth training teeth offer realistic representations of tooth structures, pathologies and findings so that various clinical situations can be practiced in a targeted manner.
Before dental students begin their practical work on patients, preparation exercises are carried out on single-colored plastic teeth throughout their studies. Theoretical knowledge can only be applied to a limited extent. To close this gap, the medical technology company Hager & Meisinger has developed innovative multi-colored 3D practice teeth. The new “myteeth” product line realistically reproduces real tooth structures, pathologies and clinical findings and enables dental scenarios to be practiced in a practical manner. The teeth can also be integrated into the standard frasaco models ANA-4, AG-3, Anka4 and AK-6-2.
In collaboration with Dr. Andreas Keßler, Senior Physician at the Clinic for Dental Prosthetics at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, and Dr. Maximilian Dosch from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, 39 tooth variants were developed, including six children's teeth. For their commitment to optimizing university education, the development team received the renowned Dental Education Award shortly after the announcement.
The new product line for students fits seamlessly into the innovative MEISINGER DIGITAL service and product range.
“Through our activities at the university, we have long recognized the problem of a lack of practical experience,” explains Sebastian Bolling, Head of the MEISINGER DIGITAL product division.“However, with modern 3D printing processes, we have succeeded in reproducing the most common challenges faced by dental students so that they can practise sufficiently before entering practice.”
During development, particular attention was paid to depicting clinical scenarios in order to support students in the learning process. In clinical practice, for example, it is extremely important to distinguish whether a preparation and cavity are located in the enamel or in the dentine, as this position has a decisive influence on the treatment approach. An outstanding feature of the newly developed practice teeth is the realistic simulation of carious dentin, which enables students to work in a practical way and trains their diagnostic skills “The myteeth have a precise color gradation between enamel and dentin and thus offer the opportunity to optimize training for multi-layer composite build-ups,” explains Sebastian Bolling.“Now we want to make this innovation available to students to make the practical part of dental training even better.”

New bracket polishers make orthodontic treatments more comfortable and efficient
Hager & Meisinger is expanding its rotary product portfolio with four innovative instruments for orthodontic treatment. The new MEISINGER Bracket Plus polishers enable residue-free removal of adhesive residues and polishing with just one instrument. This makes the often unpleasant process at the end of orthodontic treatment much more pleasant and time-saving for patients.
The new Bracket Plus polishers have been specially designed for the gentle and efficient removal
of adhesive residues, bonding points of light-curing adhesives and chemically curing 2-component
adhesive systems. One advantage is that residue-free cleaning and polishing
can be carried out with the same instrument, making it unnecessary to change instruments
. This makes the treatment, which is often perceived as unpleasant by the patient,
gentler, more time-saving and more economical and efficient for the practitioner. If necessary,
can also be combined with suitable carbide instruments. In addition,
the polishers can be reprocessed and used several times, which further reduces the costs per treatment
.
The instruments are available in four
different shapes and two sizes each for the treatment of anterior teeth, molars and premolars. A low working pressure at
5,000 to 7,000 min-1 and the use of sufficient spray cooling are recommended.
